Do you treat your body like a temple or a tent?

Self – Care

Jimmy Buffett

Jimmy Buffett is my all-time fav singer/songwriter. I just love his music. His lyrics are both humorous and meaningful.

His song Fruitcakes struck a chord with me recently…yes, pun intended… about how I have been at times treating my body lately. He writes…

“She said you’ve got to do your fair share
Now cough up half the rent
I treat my body like a temple
You treat yours like a tent”

How are you treating your body these days?

Like the “glamping” tent pic above or like a tent that is uncared for, out of control and being blown by the wind and pummeled in the rain?

Your body is uniquely yours.

You ask a lot of it and only you can take steps to treat it better.

Today…make a commitment to nourish your body with healthy and wholesome foods.

nutrition…what you eat affects your teeth

your mouth, teeth, and gums are more than just tools for eating!

  • pearly whites and pink gums are essential for chewing and swallowing, the first steps in the digestion process
  • your mouth is your body’s initial point of contact with the nutrients you consume
  • what you put in your mouth impacts not only your general health but also your teeth and gums
  • if your nutrition is poor, the first signs often show up in your mouth!

salad dressing 101

Many bottled and packaged salad dressing mixes contain excessive amounts of sugars, unhealthy oils, additives, fillers, and preservatives.
Making your own salad dressing is super simple, quick, budget friendly, and a much better way to go.
The key is finding the perfect ratio of oil to acids that works for you and supports your health goals. I personally like 1-1.

2 parts oil + 1 part acid + emulsifier + seasonings
